Todays plan was to fly through Boston to connect to Washinton Dulles and meet up with my good friend & top Rain leader, Aaron Whittier, to host a Rain event!, and then hop on a 6am return flight in the morning. Well, sometimes plans change!
The weather is perfect in all 3 cities today, so imagine my surprise when I get off the plane in Boston to see a delayed flight to DC! I quickly realized there was no way I'd make it to D.C. in time for the event. After much consultation with Aaron & jetBlue, we realized that it made more sense to return to Chicago, by way of NY's JFK airport! So my entire first day of AYCJ was spent in airplanes & at airports. The really fun part today was being in Red Sox nation! Seriously, we're such die hard fans even the airlines get in on the fun!
I'm continually reminded that being flexible is an important charcteristic of a leader. Attitude is another really key attribute in life! Being married to such a happy man has helped me to smile more & not sweat the small stuff! Besides, we are to "count it all joy when we fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of our faith produces patience." James 1:2 , and with patience it's much easier to share a smile!
